Springmeadow Bengals Comes Up Trumps Again With TICA...

7-October 2006 - We are thrilled to announce that
our snow marbled queen, Apple,
received a TICA 'Award of Excellence' for being the second best seal
marbled lynx (tabby) point Bengal of the year for 2006. We are so proud
of Apple, she has done so well in the show ring in such a short time and
now, she is the happy mother to 3-beautiful blue-eyed snow kittens.
Sisco has done us proud,
again, as well. He was placed TICA's 14th Best Shorthaired Cat in the
Region (he was up against all different breeds and hundreds of cats for
this honour). He is also TICA's highest ranked of all the adult Bengal
cats in the whole of the United Kingdom! What an amazing boy. Lynne is
absolutely thrilled with Sisco's successes - consistently, year after
year, this boy comes up trumps. Well done old chap!!

Sheer
Bliss Enjoying Life in the Countryside
3-October 2006 - Poppy (Sheer Bliss) has now retired from her career
as a queen here at Springmeadow. She has been rehomed and is enjoying
life with Emma and her other cat in the countryside.
We were delighted to receive a video from
Emma, of Poppy and her new best mate
outside, playing together. Poppy looks really happy and seems to have
settled well into country life with her new mummy and her cat companion.
Thank you, Emma, for providing Poppy with such a lovely, peaceful home,
where she can enjoy a long retirement.
Summary of the Recent Springmeadow News
3-May 2006 - Well, it's been
a while since we last reported, so we thought it would be nice to bring
everyone up to date on all the exciting, recent news and events here at
Springmeadow Bengals. We've given overviews of most the news, because
there is just so much to tell!!
- Nov. & Dec. 2005 - Gojo was placed 2nd to
Sisco at the GCCF's
Supreme Cat show, then at the GCCF's National, Gojo beat Sisco, each
winning 1st and 2nd places respectively. In addition, Gojo also won
many side classes at the National. We are so proud of them both.
- Feb 2006 - Sisco earned the TICA title of Grand Champion at the
CatTica show in Derby.
- March 2006 - at the BCCGB TICA show, Sisco was amazing! Truly on
form on the day, voicing his 'opinions' and charming the judges; he
was a real star.
Lynne reported that, "TICA judge Bill Lee was so impressed with
Sisco, that he didn't just final him, he ranked him his 1st Cat
Overall. The Maine Coon who was vying for this honour, was placed
2nd which surprised me as Bill is a Maine Coon Breeder, I beleive!!
Sisco performed & talked to everyone as Bill was trying to
announce in reverse order the positions and on many occasions,
Bill went to Sisco and told him 'to be patient, his turn would
come...' As usual, all the other cats sat quietly and patiently in
their show pens, but not our Sisco-- he rolled over and over,
shouted and talked to all who would listen. He was really on form
on the day and really enjoyed himself. Sisco was placed 2nd in two
finals and 8th in another large ring."
Lynne was also proud to share that, "On the day Sisco earned so many
points that it took him from Grand Champion, through Double Grand
to TRIPLE GRAND CHAMPION! I believe that he is the first Bengal
to achieve the TGC title in the UK. Not bad for the oldest entire
there!!!!"
- March 2006 - (Also at the BCCGB TICA show)
Springmeadow
Kiwi debuted in her first show at only 4 months old. She also had a
fine day out for such a young kitten. Kiwi was placed 3rd in the
Bengal Congress out of 18 kittens and 6th in an "All Breeds" final
in another ring. We were really pleased with how well she did on the
day.
- 29 & 30 April 2006 - Sisco was superb at the Bletchley TICA,
2-day show event, he got to the finals in 4-rings over the weekend
and acquired the points to earn the title of Quadruple Grand
Champion. Congratulations, Sisco!!!
Lynne recalls these happy details from the show: "On Saturday,
20-April, because Sisco was spraying (there were so many girls
in season!), Vickie Shields, the American judge, asked whether
it was possible to hold him in the audience. Sisco had just been
awarded BOB Bengal in Kurt Vlach's ring after which, he went
into Vickie's ring-- she was judging the Adult Congress on the
first day. When Vickie called him up, Sisco played and purred
and was again selected as BOB Bengal. Kurt placed him 4th in his
final and Vickie placed him 6th, announcing to all that, 'this
guy (Sisco) thought the show was for him & he was the happiest
guy in the hall.'"
"On Sunday, 30-April, when we returned to Vickie's ring, she
announced that Sisco was her BOB from yesterday and commented on
what a character he was. She started playing with him, while
talking to the audience about her 'Cat Activity' program, which
she introduced in the USA, explaining how successful it
was. Sisco was a major performer-- he was after everything and
anything attention wise! There was so much laughter, that the 2
rings next to us actually stopped to find out what was
going on! At that point, Vickie asked if Sisco could go on the
floor and she started to put little jumps up, trying to get
Sisco to go over them. Sisco's latest show performance
gives new meaning to the expression 'show stopper' -- it was
just so funny."
"When it came to the finals, Kurt placed Sisco 2nd (I said to
Kurt that if he had placed him 1st, Sisco would have had his
'Best Cat', which is required for a QGC to go progress to
Supreme Grand Champion.) Kurt 'apologised' jokingly with me,
knowing that I was only kidding and was delighted for Sisco be
placed 2nd. Kurt then announced that it had taken him 12
shows to achieve the Supreme title for one of his cats,
because he needed to get that 'Best Cat' award. I thought 'Wow
this is going to be difficult!' Now, back to Vickie's
ring..."
"Vickie's ring, as the placings were being counted down... I
wasn't nervous, actually, it was like the GCCF National in 2004
- I didn't think it possible to win; after all, Vickie had
placed Sisco 6th the previous day. They got down to the last two
cats, when Kurt tapped me on the shoulder and said,
"Congratulations." He had seen Vickie place a 2nd on the other
cat and she was coming towards Sisco and me with the 1st place
rosette. I was over the moon-- Sisco had done it again, all on
his merits and personality. Vickie just loved him. She couldn't
believe that he was a working boy of 3-1/2 years old, still
behaving like a kitten!!!"
"I am so proud of Sisco -- he does so much to promote the Bengal
breed, especially after the unfounded bad press and the
challenges with misinformed GCCF judges."
"Our new snow girl, Junglefire Whiteshadows, also managed to
acheive the title of 'Champion' at Bletchley. We are very
delighted with her accomplishment." Congratulations to Lynne
on her excellent days at the shows!!
- In the latest four Springmeadow litters, there have been some
truly remarkable kitties. In particular, the 4 marbled kittens:
2-boys and 2-girls. Lynne commented, "It is difficult to decide
which one is the best, but there is definitely a little 'GoJo' or
'Sisco Jr.' among these kitties!!!"
- Lynne is pleased to say that all the kittens from the last two
Springmeadow litters have settled so well into their new homes.
Lynne has had some lovely e-mails and telephone calls from happy
owners about their progress. Thank you to everyone who has
provided Lynne with updates on their Springmeadow kittens.
Sisco Becomes Champion in His First Ever TICA Show
Adtresh
Golden Dreamer (a.k.a. Sisco) was successful, again, last weekend at
his very first TICA show in Bletchley, Milton Keynes. We are
delighted to announce that Sisco was awarded the title of TICA Champion (CH.)
in his last ring of the day. There were three earlier rings where Sisco was voted Best of Colour (B.O.C.), Best of Division
in ring 4 (B.O.D.) and Best of Breed ring 4 (B.O.B.). Then, later in his final,
Sisco was placed 2nd Best Cat Overall in ring 4.
Sisco's
son, TICA CH. Springmeadow Welshdreamer (a.k.a. Harvey) owned by
Joanne Sheldon-Evans, was
7th in the all breed final and 10th in short hair cat final, but
he won two B.O.D.'s, three B.O.C.'s.
Harvey also participated in one additional final. Harvey
achieved the title of Grand Champion (GCH) on the day and just needs
to win one more final to achieve the title of 'Double Grand Champion'
DGC.
Between Sisco and
Harvey, the two managed to win 3 of the 4 B.O.D.'s, so it
really was a great day out for Springmeadow Bengals.
Sisco Does it Again!
We are proud to announce that
Sisco
was awarded Best Foreign Adult for the second year running at
the Southern Counties Cat Show. He also won the single, first prize in
the 'Klaus Dessauer Memorial Class' judged by Mrs. Dessauer who wrote
a lovely card to Sisco and presented him with a prize gift. This was a
very large class of lovely A.V. Foreign Adults, so this was quite a compliment
to Sisco.
West Country Cat Club Show Results
Congratulations, once again, to Sisco
(Adtresh Golden Dreamer) on his superb day at his first show in 2005.
Sisco was voted 'Best in Show Foreign' as well
as being the overall best in show runner up at the West Country Cat
Club Show on Jan 15th.
It was also our new, future Queen,
Bambino Sweetizzie's first show. Izzy had a great day, as well,
winning her Open & Best Of Breed Brown Spotted Bengal Kitten, against
much older opposition.
In addition, both Sisco and Izzy
were awarded many first places in their side classes. What a
great start to 2005 for Springmeadow.
National Cat Club - Exciting Show News!
4 December 2004
This year's National Cat Club Show
yielded a wonderful reward for Adtresh Golden Dreamer a.k.a.
Sisco,
Springmeadow's home-bred brown marbled Bengal stud boy. For the
first time ever at the National Cat Club Show, a marbled Bengal, Sisco,
won the honour of Overall Best in Show!
This was a great victory for the Bengal breed as a whole and
understandably, Lynne could not be more ecstatic.
Lynne said: "Many
congratulations to my beautiful marbled boy for his fantastic
achievement. He is the first Bengal to win either
the National or Supreme cat shows. Sisco has such a fantastic
personality and temperament, which was there to be appreciated in front
of hundreds of spectators and fellow breeders. What an "uproar" there
was when the Judge, Mrs. Dugdale, pointed to him and announced that he
had won. Tears were shed not only by myself but by the other Bengal
Breeders present. Sisco proved to be a very popular and worthy winner
and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all my fellow breeders
for all their support and kind words. I will never forget this day &
feel so fortunate to own such a TRULY WONDERFUL BENGAL BOY!!!!"

Congratulations to
Springmeadow Welshdreamer
28 August 2004
Springmeadow Welshdreamer (aka Harvey) won his Open class and Best
of Breed at the West of
England & South Wales Cat Society GCCF Championship show.
His proud breeder, Lynne,
commented that, "Harvey beat a lot of well-bred kittens who have been
winning in shows over the last few months!!! Not only is his
Dad, Sisco, doing well in the show ring, but he is also siring
winners. Harvey is one of the kittens from Sisco's first litter
with Jade and we are really excited to see their next litter, due
mid-September."
Jo, Harvey's owner, was
absolutely thrilled with his outstanding show results.
